Etihad Rail is committed to maintaining and promoting a safe and healthy work environment and delivering sustainable rail services  for  the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We believe  that everyone shares the responsibility for workplace safety, health and responsible environmental activities and is key to ensuring our well-being and that of the community, our customers, and contractors.

At Etihad Rail, we recognise that building and operating a new railway is a cultural shift to the transport ecosystem that will require the adoption of specific environmental, health, and safety measures related to our work activities. Etihad Rail is fully committed to enforcing and applying all necessary controls to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

We believe that all accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses are preventable. Furthermore, we are committed to achieving and sustaining a” Zero Accident Performance” as well as minimising illnesses and environmental impacts through incident reporting, investigation, and continuous improvement practices.

To achieve this, we are committed to:

• Enhance employees’ health, safety, and well-being.
• Comply with, and exceed where possible, all applicable Federal and Local HSE Laws, Regulations and Code of Practice, including the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety & Health Centre requirements, through a systematic approach to best practice HSE Management.
• Actively promote programmes to deliver environmentally aware and sustainable solutions, prevent pol- lution and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation.
• Establish HSE Objectives as a key strategic organisational priority and implement HSE Systems, measures and programmes across the organisation including designing, building, planning railway op- erations, and executing associated tasks and related functions.
• Communicate this Policy Statement, HSE performance and our HSE goals and objectives in an open manner.
• Elect to work with contractors and business partners who share our commitment and can demonstrate good HSE performance and compliance with our HSE Management System (HSEMS) requirements.
• Commit appropriate resources to achieve a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound workplace and enhance awareness and involvement by all in the HSE programme implementation.
• Consult and communicate with employees on all matters regarding Environment, Health, and Safety.
